LANDAU EUGENE MURPHY JR. TO PERFORM ALONGSIDE FORMER TEMPTATIONS FRONTMAN

A Motown legend sharing the stage with an America’s Got Talent winner?  No, this is not just your imagination running away with you.

In conjunction with The Huntington Symphony Orchestra’s Picnic with the Pops concert series, West Virginia’s own Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. will be performing at the Harris Riverfront Park in Huntington, W. Va. this Saturday August 17th, and will be joined by a very special guest.

Glenn Leonard

Glenn Leonard, former lead vocalist for Motown’s legendary Temptations will perform alongside Murphy and the Huntington Symphony Orchestra.  Leonard joined the group in 1975 and was the first tenor to front The Temptations, remaining with the Motown hit makers through 1983.  Glenn recorded 10 albums with the group, toured the world and was the featured lead vocalist on the Temps version of the Christmas classic “Silent Night”, which he recently re-recorded as a duet with Murphy.  Benjamin J. Cain Jr. portrayed Leonard in the 1998 biographical television mini-series The Temptations.  Today, Leonard travels with his own group, The Temptations Revue, and as a member of Leonard, Coleman and Blunt, featuring former lead vocalists of the Temptations, The Platters and The Drifters.

Possessing a smooth, baritone voice reminiscent of the Rat Pack luminaries he greatly admires, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. began recording his debut album That’s Life alongside Grammy-winning producer Steve Tyrell shortly after winning the 6th season of America’s Got Talent.  Upon its release in December 2011, That’s Life debuted at number one on the Billboard jazz charts and in the top 40 overall.  Since then, Murphy has appeared on dozens of national television and radio programs and toured the world to sell out audiences.  He returned earlier this week from a string of sold out shows and media appearances in Beverly Hills and Hollywood.
