Singer Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., a West Virginia native and the winner of season six of “America’s Got Talent,” talked to the students of South Middle School. At the assembly, he encouraged students to be present in school. As a high school dropout himself who eventually earned his high school equivalency diploma during the pandemic, he emphasized the importance of students making the most of their opportunities.
