HUNTINGTON WV AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TO HOST SLAM DUNK 2012 – RAISING THE BAR

With collegiate basketball tournaments just around the corner, Huntington WV Area Habitat for Humanity has decided to join in on the action by hosting Slam Dunk 2012 – Raising the Bar.

A partnership event with Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia, Slam Dunk 2012 – Raising the Bar will be held on Thursday, March 15 at Huntington High School starting at 6:30 p.m. America’s Got Talent winner Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. will be leading Team Habitat head to head against the West Virginia Blazers from Bluefield, WV.

Other Team Habitat players include: – Radio personalities from Clear Channel Radio – Former Marshall University and NFL player Troy Brown – Scott Harper, WOWK – Huntington City Director of Administration, Brandi Jacobs-Jones – Rudi Raynes Kidder, WV Sheriff’s Association – Huntington WV Area Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors President, Patrick Lucas – Michele Muth, Marshall University Rec Center – Spencer Adkins, WOWK Meteorologist – Cabell Huntington Hospital Media & Community Relations Manager, Charles Shumaker – Darrah Wilcox of WCHS/WVAH Fox 11

2012 marks the 25th Anniversary of Habitat for Humanity building safe, decent and affordable homes for families in need in the mountain state. To celebrate this milestone, Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia is partnering with affiliates throughout the state to construct 25 homes; 3 of which will be constructed in Cabell County. All proceeds from ticket sales of Slam Dunk 2012 – Raising the Bar will go toward construction of the Raise the Bar Build Home.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6 – 12 years old, and free for kids 5 and under and may be purchased online at www.HabitatWV.org
