The America’s Got Talent winner and West Virginia’s favorite son, performs his full concert with orchestra at the Maier Performance Hall of the Clay Center as part of ACC’s 2012 Gala. Landau’s concert will benefit ACC as well as the Children’s Home Society. Members of the Appalachian Children’s Chorus will perform with Mr. Murphy. Guests, the Art in Action Dance Company of Hurricane, WV, will also perform during the concert.
Landau is equally excited, noting that he has never had such a cast of talented “back up” singers. Landau has often performed in the past raising money for various youth organizations in Southern West Virginia, but this is the first time he will actually be joined on stage by such a large ensemble. It is anticipated that the ACC will be joining Landau for a Sinatra classic, New York, New York, while he will be assisting them with a beautifully orchestrated spiritual.
The concert is only a part of the evening’s festivities. ACC’s Gala fundraising dinner also takes place. ACC holds its annual Gala to raise money for the children of the choir. It was the wish of director, Selina Midkiff, to pair Landau with the children of the choir. It became clear this year’s Gala would be extra special now that Landau’s concert caps off the evening. Those who purchase tickets to the Gala fundraiser will not only take part in a fabulous meal, have the opportunity to participate in an auction for exclusive merchandise but will also have premium seats in the house for the concert.
