Landau a part of Georgia’s Dream Night Talent Search

Landau is proud to be a part of Georgia’s Dream Night Talent Search in Rome, GA on June 14 and June 15 to support and cheer for new upcoming talent.
This is a wonderful opportunity for audiences of all ages to enjoy entertainment from 30 artists while watching the live competition phase with an additional performance by guest judge, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.
This platform gives artists (singers, singer-songwriters, musicians) a chance to showcase their unique skills to win $2000, a huge exposure, a front-of-the-line pass audition to America’s Got Talent and/or to NBC’s Little Big Shots, Senior Big Shots, The Voice, American Idol, The Four, extensive publicity, possible management, agency or label deals and so much more.
The last day to enroll to perform is May 31st.

Landau joins Marshall University Jazz Spring 2019 Tour as Special Guest

MARSHALL UNIVERSITY JAZZ SPRING 2019 TOUR FEATURES LANDAU EUGENE MURPHY JR. AS SPECIAL GUEST
Performances in Parkersburg, Beckley, and Lewisburg April 4 through April 6

Marshall University’s Jazz Ensemble will go on a mini-tour with guest vocalist Landau Eugene Murphy JrApril 4-6 throughout West Virginia. Under the direction of Jeff Wolfe, the ensemble and Landau will also present clinics at high schools and perform evening public concerts in Parkersburg, Beckley, and Lewisburg.

The 17-piece big band will kick off the tour with a free concert at 6:30 pm Thursday, April 4, at Parkersburg South High School. The event is open to all. 

Next, the band will travel to Beckley, making a stop at Woodrow Wilson High School for a high school clinic, before presenting an evening concert at 7 pm Friday, April 5, at the Tamarack Theatre. Tickets for this show cost $25 and can be purchased in advance online at https://www.tamarackwv.com/events/.

The tour wraps up at 7:30 pm on Saturday, April 6, at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre in Lewisburg. Tickets for this show are $25 and can be purchased in advance online at  https://www.gvtheatre.org/single-tickets.

The Marshall Jazz program has a strong history of teaching jazz, the great, timeless music genre, and turning out world-class jazz musicians. “The members of the ensemble are thrilled to have Murphy joining them on tour”, said Jeff Wolfe, director of the MU Jazz Ensemble. “Not only is he an amazing singer and talent, but he also serves as an example and inspiration to our West Virginia students to not stop following their dreams in pursuing America’s artistic gift to the world —  jazz,” Wolfe said. “I think audiences will enjoy the eclectic mix of music from our top big band, jazz combo, and who knows? We might have a few surprises up our sleeve that folks won’t want to miss.”

“I’m grateful for the chance to be a small part of helping the kids of Marshall University Jazz ensemble succeed, and hopefully inspire these young musical artists to realize that anything is possible”, said Landau who believes in giving back to the community. Several instructors with Marshall University Jazz group are members of my touring band who always talk about what great young people they have in the program at Marshall and I am honored to support and sing with this young upcoming talent. I will do my best to play for my home state because without support from West Virginians I would never have won America’s Got Talent. I would never have all the incredible opportunities that have been afforded to me”, said Landau, a proud West Virginian and a board member of the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia.

The MU Jazz Ensemble I is the premier large jazz ensemble in the Marshall University Jazz Studies Program. Over the past year, the MU Jazz Ensemble has performed with world-renowned drummer and band-leader Jeff Hamilton, NEA Jazz Master Jason Marsalis at the Inaugural Huntington International Jazz Festival, and Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition, as well as with noted trumpet player and band leader Rob Parton at the 50th Annual Marshall University Winter Jazz Festival. Landau among star-studded lineup at Valentines for Veterans Concert

A star-studded lineup of veteran and fresh new movie, music and television stars from Hollywood, Las Vegas and Atlantic City will headline a once in a lifetime concert event of music, memories, laughter and love benefitting two charities in West Virginia.

The “Valentines for Veterans Concert” presented by The Denver Foundation and the Southeast WV chapter of the American Red Cross will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Chuck Mathena Center in Princeton WV.

The star-studded lineup, appearing together on one stage for the first time ever, includes:

  • West Virginia’s own “America’s Got Talent” winner season six Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. and his all-star band
  • Maiya Sykes, the soul-singing sensation from NBC TV’s “The Voice” and vocalist for PostModern Jukebox
  • Hollywood heartthrob, Las Vegas and Atlantic City headliner Dave Damiani
  • Von Lewis, actor and singer from the Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-nominated movie “Green Book”
  • Female singing sensation Abbey Clark’s timeless tribute to Patsy Cline

 

 

As a special added treat, the Valentine for Veterans event will be hosted by everyone’s favorite Valentine Dawn Wells, best known for her starring role as Mary Ann on the TV classic “Gilligan’s Island” and a longtime supporter of The Denver Foundation.

To make the evening extra special, all Valentines for Veterans event attendees will have the opportunity to meet the show’s stars in person and have photos made with them after the show.

Dreama Denver, president of The Denver Foundation (home of Always Free Honor Flight) and a Red Cross Board Member, said she is delighted to have such an unbelievable array of talent in Mercer County on one stage for one night. “Both the Denver Foundation and the Red Cross do so much work on behalf of our West Virginia veterans,” said Denver, “and to make this night possible in recognition of their service and sacrifice is a privilege for all of us.  I hope that lots of people will come out for a great Valentines event to support our wonderful vets.”
